“ACT NOW” NEON SCULPTURE

A call to action amid the polarized political climate of 2020, “Act Now” neon sculpture is inspired by legendary French feminist and philosopher Simone de Beauvoir’s words—“Don’t gamble on the future. Act now without delay.”—transformed into a radiant appeal for civic engagement and feminist agency. Exhibited in “Rethink America” at David Benrimon Fine Art (Oct 15–Nov 27, 2020) alongside artists including Derrick Adams, Deborah Kass, and Rashid Johnson, the work served as a beacon for democracy at a moment of cultural unrest and social reckoning. A variation was previously exhibited in “Currents” at A.I.R. Gallery, NY (Jan 2018) and “SHE INSPIRES” at The Untitled Space (2017) in partnership with the nonpartisan nonprofit She Should Run, encouraging more women to pursue leadership and elected office. Uniting light, language, and urgency, the work stands as both a political statement and a luminous act of resistance.
The artwork is available in unique variations, Edition 1 in blue neon, unmounted (created in 2017), Edition 2 in turquoise neon mounted on white opaque plexiglass with steel standoff mounts (30″ x 40″ created in 2020), and Edition 3 in magenta pink neon, mounted on white opaque plexiglass with steel standoff mounts.
