JEMIMA KIRKE

Jemima Kirke Photographed by Indira Cesarine for The Untitled Magazine.

Jemima Kirke is a British-American artist, actress, and writer whose unapologetic creativity challenges conventions and reclaims the female narrative. She rose to prominence as the free-spirited Jessa Johansson on HBO’s Girls, and has since delivered compelling performances in Hulu’s Conversations with Friends and Netflix’s Sex Education, where she portrayed the formidable Headmistress Hope Haddon. Alongside her screen work, Kirke is a classically trained painter with a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, whose intimate, emotionally charged artwork explores themes of identity, vulnerability, motherhood, and autonomy—offering a raw, feminist lens on contemporary womanhood.
