“YOU ARE A GODDESS” NEON SCULPTURE

“YOU ARE A GODDESS” (2026) is the inaugural work in Indira Cesarine’s “Manifest” series, a body of neon mixed-media works centered on words of empowerment layered over original artwork by the artist. Each piece transforms language into light, turning affirmation into presence and inviting viewers to embody the messages they encounter.

In this work, hand-bent pink glass neon is mounted over “Dreaming,” a luminous medium-format floral photograph printed on Sintra and mounted on wood panel. The juxtaposition of delicate blooms and radiant neon creates a dialogue between softness and strength. Flowers—historically associated with femininity—become a ground for reclamation, while the glowing declaration “YOU ARE A GODDESS” asserts agency, resilience, and feminine power. The fragility and endurance of the neon itself echo the complexity of womanhood.

As the first work in the “Manifest” series, “YOU ARE A GODDESS” establishes the collection’s central premise: that words have the power to shape perception, reclaim identity, and inspire transformation. Released for International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, the artwork was featured in Artsy’s “Women-Led Galleries Now” online art fair, celebrating women artists and women-led galleries. The work stands as both tribute and declaration—honoring the legacy of women who came before us while affirming the power, visibility, and divinity of women today.
